BIO
Born in 2001 in Brooklynl, I am a trumpet player, writer of music and words, organizer and teacher based in Basel, Switzerland. I do not think of my musical output as being related to any one specific genre, but jazz is the music I first fell in love with, and the diverse expressiveness and social impact that the masters of this tradition reached is what I look to attain regardless of what the music is called. With improvising on the trumpet being my guiding daily practice, I mostly work in collaboration with other improvisers looking to create group repertoire. Regular collaboraters include: Mark Abramovski, Rotem Eylam, Nikita Manin, Ben Eidosn, Lorena Izquierdo, Lemuel Marc, Ada Gomiz, and many more. In addition to this, I have extensive experience performing composed music on trumpet, composing music for others, and playing trumpet in a variety of traditional formats from Big Band jazz to Klezmer music, and Salsa music to Italian marching bands.
As a performer and composer I have played all around the United States, Europe, and Cuba. This includes the most prominent improvised venues in New York, New England, and Berlin, festivals such as Darmstadt and Monferatto in Moncalvo, and major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Symphony Space. As a writer I have read poetry publicly and written short stories to accompany solo improvisations. As an organizer I curated a monthly concert series in Boston at my apartments, and a series of outdoor COVID shows in Brooklyn. With a strong passion for teaching, I aim to help students confront obstacles they are facing with the trumpet to help them reach their individual goals and even discover how these obstacles might relate to them as individuals allowing for personal growth beyond music.
My daily life vastly revolves around music and my artistic philosophy does not go much beyond that. Music is a vessel for self-growth when used properly, and when shared it can encourage others to start or continue to use music in the same way.
